Malaysia Day Contemplations - What does it mean to be Malaysian?

This year for Malaysia Day (September 16), the New Straits Times ran a series of editorials on what Malaysian citizenship and patriotism mean. Coverage began with an article detailing the 100,000 stateless Chinese who, despite fulfilling all requirements according to Malay law, are still being denied Malaysian citizenship (http://www.nst.com.my/news/2016/09/171670/show-compassion-give-citizensh...) based on the fact that they speak colloquial bahasa Malaysia.
