Vietnam Continues to Monitor the Recovery of Incident-Affected Provinces

The article from the Nhan Dan is reporting on the effects of the 2016 Vietnam Marine Life Disaster caused by Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Company, who have taken responsibility for the mass fish deaths and pollution. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment says it is working with agencies to form a program to monitor and assess the sea water near the provinces affected by the disaster. This work will contribute to efforts to find the cause behind this major incident. Results of monitoring done by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in June and August shows that the ecosystem of coral reef and seaweed is showing signs of recovery, while the status of seafood is yet to be declared safe to eat.
The Formosa Ha Tinh company promised to used VND11.5 trillion (US$500 million) to help fishermen in changing jobs and cleaning the polluted aquatic environment.
The article talks about the recovery of the environment, but leaves questions about how the Vietnamese citizens are dealing with the disaster? Is the Formosa Ha Tinh helping people who have gotten sick from eating poisoned fish and other seafood? How has the disaster affected the seafood industry and how are fishermen faring?
